Politics?

I'm honestly tired of thinking and reading and hearing about the presidential election all the time, but I found this article from the Washington Post this morning about the plight of young Republicans. I enjoyed the piece because, as a young conservative person myself, my demographic group is usually left out in the cold. Young Democrats are out in full force in support of Obama. (Don't get me wrong, I think think that's fantastic too. Anything to promote change and breathe a little excitment into 20-somethings about politics is great.) I am definitely not enthusiastic about my presidential candidate, and neither are the people mentioned in the article. Its just nice to know i'm not the only one feeling like this!



Anyway, enough about politics. I recently finished reading David Sedaris' latest book When You Are Engulfed In Flames. I'm a big Sedaris fan, and was reeeally excited that he was finally putting out another book--his first since 2004. Some of the stories were amazing, laugh-out-loud memories fro his childhood. I tend to enjoy these the most, because Sedaris was raised in Raleigh, and absolutely everything he says about the city (places and people he descirbes) are usually spot on impressions. He just thinks them in a much funnier and more clever way than I do:) A few hilights include The Understudy, This Old House and That's Amore. But aside from the few stories that almost made me pee in my pants, I kind of feel like he's running out of good material. He talks in the book about how boring his life is, and I don't know if its just me, but I think its starting to show. Obviously, its still David Sedaris, so its still funny and definitely worth reading. But in my opinion, not his best work.

Other things:

1. My guilty pleasure: Miley Cyrus. I love that girl and her teeny bopper music, and I don't care who knows about it.
2. My iGoogle Diane von Furstenberg artist theme background makes me very happy:)
