Could life get much better?

Lovely weekend which included all of the following: a trip to my very first gay bar, courtesy of Acree, outlet mall shopping, seafood eating, hanging out with old friends and new, and talking to the ones who aren't here over the phone. And not that much sleep (unfortunately). Sounds pretty fun right? It was!

Although, I must admit I didn't accomplish my two main weekend goals:
1. Buy a new suit. Everything at the outlets was ugly.
2. Meet Ludacris at a liquor store meet-n-greet on Saturday at Green's. I figured my chances of seeing him in a random liquor store around Atlanta some time in the future are pretty high...

But, I did do a lot of quality Sex and the City watching! That counts for something, right? Plus, last night I did laundry and washed dishes. If only I could bring myself to actually vacuum. Very doubtful. Tonight I must watch my usual Monday night tv (plus Greek, yay) and possibly pop out to Urban Outfitters to pick something up. We'll see how motivated I am.

Exciting, wonderful, awesome things that are happening in the next few days:
-Raleigh on Thursday, hooray!
-BRITNEY on Saturday with Matthew.
-some good bbq eating at home, hopefully.
-DISNEY in 10

Could life get much better?

Trivia Champ

Thats right, my group actually won trivia last night! Hooray! Its only the second time I've ever won--although the first time with Sarina at Foothills is still my proudest win :) And speaking of Sarina, I've got my fingers crossed really, really tight for her to get a job in ATL. My life would be complete. Everyone, please think good thoughts.

I've got a pretty uneventful weekend planned so far. Sleepover party with Acree tonight (very excited), probably seeing the lovely Marietta crew tomorrow and possibly even a trip to the outlet mall on Sunday. Overall, sounds promising to me! And even better, I'll be home in less than a week. I haven't been able to say that for two months.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

A genuinely good day

Remember how yesterday I said I maybe had a new attitude...with a question mark? Today its a period. New attitude for sure. I'm happier, I feel lighter and I'm mostly just thankful. I just hope the feeling is permanent :)

Today I'm particularly happy about:

1. Going out to lunch somewhere totally delicious.
2. My lovely co-workers.
3. The fact that Sarina is here and we got to hang out last night! A short visit is still a good visit!
4. Potential outlet mall shopping this weekend.
5. Serious girl time this weekend.
6. My fabulous co-workers who I like more every day.
7. Leftover Mexican food for dinner tonight :)
8. Trivia tonight.
9. Raleigh in one week!
10. Friday tomorrow!

And this makes me happy:

There's just something really nice about sailboats, right? Wish I was there now :)

New Day...

...new attitude? I think so. I hope so. I finally closed a chapter yesterday that I had needed to close a for a while. Its hard to let go of some things, but even worse to hold onto them when you know it isn't good for you. I got the closure that I needed for the sake of my sanity, and now I can actually start to move forward. This is absolutely a step in the right direction, but sometimes those first steps are just so hard.

Again, my friends are wondeful people to put up with my crazy phone calls. I love you all dearly, and am lucky to have you in my life. I can pretty much guarantee you haven't received the last slightly insane call from me, but hopefully they'll be fewer and more far between now :)

Ode to Ben

Thank you, Obama, for doing the first smart thing in months, and keeping Bernanke as head of the Fed.

Not so good

I'd been doing so, so well and then boom--yesterday was a bad day. No good very bad day. Its like they just come out of the blue. Its days like that when I want a roommate so badly. Someone to talk to in the evening, and not just on the phone. Thank God for my friends though. I'm not sure I would physically make it through the evening without them to talk to and cry to.

So now I've got a little bit of soul-searching to do, and I'm not so excited about it. Last night I just wanted to run to NC and hide under the covers at my parents' house. But, thats kind of the crappy thing about being a grown-up, especially a grown up who lives 6 hours away from home. That's not really possible. Sigh. At least I get to be there in 9 days...thank goodness. This weekend I'll just have to occupy myself with my lovely friends.

Plus, my day was doubly worse because I've got some crazy spring-time-esque allergies going on. My scratchy throat and puffy eyes are very attractive...not!

Hopefully I'll be feeling better tonight. I have a feeling its just going to be one of those weeks, and I'll deal with it. Probably won't be pleasant, but I'll make it.
