Oscars 2011: Fashion Round Up

The Best:

Gwenyth Paltrow. I actually loved the way this dress looked on her on tv. Perfect for her figure, and I love the matte sequins!

ScarJo. I thought this looked better on tv as well, but the color was stunning and it could not have fit her better!

Busy Phillips. Why she is at the Oscars is beyond me, but I love this dress. I would actually wear this dress, which is a rare thing to say about a red carpet look!

Jennifer Hudson. Holy Crap. All I can say is I hope WW is as successful for me as it was for her.

Anne Hathaway. I adore her, even if she wasn't the best host I've ever seen...I love this dress, but I loved her white dress that she changed into during the show even more!

Hailee Steinfeld. So cute. I would wear this too, but its so age appropriate for her. And it was so sparkly on the show!

Natalie Portman. Gorgeous color and so figure flattering for her. Best dressed for me!

Jennifer Lawrence. Not going to lie, I don't even know who this person is, but she looks phenomenal in this dress.

Mila Kunis. This lavender is stunning on her. Very old Hollywood.
The Worst:

Melissa Leo. Not good...very much like a bad grandma's curtain. And her crazy acceptance speech didn't impress me either.

Nicole Kidman. I like this dress in theory, but the architectural element is lost on me. It would've looked so much better with a sleeker silhouette.

Cate Blanchett. Again, I like the majority of this dress, but the bullseye in the middle isn't doing anything for me.

Amy Adams. Why oh why is she wearing amazing jewelry over a mock turtleneck dress. Not good.

Michelle Williams. This dress ins't that bad, but its not great either. A little bit boring, in my opinion.

Thoughts? Concerns? Who were your favorites friends?! xoxo

Excellent news!

I am so happy to officially (as in, on the blog) congratulate my dear friend Tiffany from WF who got engaged on Friday night! I'm not sure, but I just might be psychic, or maybe Emily and I just talked up this engagement over the weekend and in our long card ride home last week. I mean, is it a coincidence that it happened just days after we were hypothesizing? Just sayin, I wasn't super shocked :) So , congrats Tiff and Chase! So much excitement to come!

And as for me, I've had a lovely weekend, and now need to pack myself up for the week. Heading to Cocoa Beach in the morning. I'm sure you're jealous.

xoxo

TGIF

Finally Friday! I really shouldn't complain about a short week, but somehow the short weeks always seem the longest. I'm in the office today, which is actually a good thing. I like being here on Friday mornings to get my act together for going on the road again next week. There's hardly anyone here, and I can get some much done. I do plan on getting out of here early to cross a few things off the to do list, though. Must mail taxes, buy powerball ticket, grocery shop and get Claritin. Immediately. The pollen count is up to 500 in Atlanta, but in my head/throat, it feels like about 5,000,000. Sigh....spring is springing. All the daffodils and pretty pink blossom trees popped open as of yesterday. I love flowers. I hate pollen.

I don't have anything terrible exciting planned for this weekend. Hanging out with John, getting a massage (yay!), getting back on the healthy eating wagon, and not shopping--only 3 days left in no-shop February, and I've been doing so good!

I hope you all have a fantastic time this weekend doing something fun! xoxo

Too much good stuff

Lydia and Warren are married! And I had the best weekend I've had in a loooong time. Being around college friends is always the best, especially at such a happy and wonderful occasion (and being at the beach doesn't hurt either). Here's a run down of the fun:

-Emily and I have a fabulous road trip down to Florida on Friday, complete with McDonald's Happy Meal Barbies.
-I saw the ocean for the first time this year and ate some delicious shrimp and grits with my hot date.
-We made friends with some WF boys in the elevator, and were so happy we had someone under the age of 50 to talk to at the beautiful cocktail party on Friday night.
-Em and I got really, really sun burnt while over-zealously laying out all Saturday morning.
-Erin and Al arrived and we had the best night ever at the wedding, cocktail hour, reception and after party. Too much fun (and too many drinks) were had by all!
-We enjoyed a delicious brunch back at the Ritz Carlton on Sunday morning (dining at the Ritz 3 days in a row has really put a damper on my normal life now that I'm back home, fyi).
-Al left us, but Erin, Em and I had a lovely afternoon of Loop milkshakes, shopping in historic Fernandina and having a very romantic dinner on the waterfront. Bliss.

And then Monday morning arrived and we had to go home (SAD). But here's a few photos to reminiscence about, and for y'all to enjoy!

Happy Happy Weekend

Mine is beginning in just a couple of hours--I figured there was no better day to go into the office an hour early and take an hour of vacation time! Can't wait to get the fun started! Today I'm looking forward to:

-leaving early
-having dinner & spending a little mid-week time with John
-picking Em up from the airport!

Not so thrilled about:

-driving to the airport
-the salad I had for lunch out at a restaurant that (literally) ate up almost all of my daily WW points!
-packing for the weekend

What are you looking forward to this weekend. Its supposed to be 76 degrees in Amelia Island tomorrow. Transport me now, please!

I'm going to London!

Its official: I'm getting back to Europe in 2011! I put down a (large) deposit on a fabulous and VERY reasonably priced package trip I found online. IamsoexcitedIcanhardlywait.

But actually, I can. Because first I get to experience the goodness of Amelia Island 2011. What a weekend it will be.

I know y'all are sick of my chatting about excitement over future trips, but I just had to put that out there. I hope you're all having as wonderful a week as I am. The weather is so nice, the work days are flying by, I've been doing well with my healthy eating and have even been exercising (combo of gym and Just Dance, which I am addicted to). Its a good week :)

I can't wait....

2 more days! Emily is coming and we are going to Florida and we're going to have cocktails at the Ritz and see Lydia get married and....ohmygosh I can't wait.

At least yesterday and today have gone by quickly at work. I may or may not have been planning a London vacay during business hours, but sometimes you've just gotta relax a little. Its looks like London 2k11 will be happening though, and I could not be more happy!!

So much good stuff, and so much to be thankful for! I hope you all are having as good a week as I am :)
