Some songs I'm obsessed with at the moment:
1. Aly & AJ, Potential Breakup Song. Teeny bopper music at its finest...thanks, Pandora, for making me feel 14 again.
2. Taylor Swift, You Belong With Me. I tried hard not to like this girl, but I'm pretty much at the point of purchasing her cd. She is awesome, and I can't deny it anymore.
3. Lady Gaga, Lovegame. Love Lady Gaga, love her cd, love her crazy image.
4. Keri Hilson, Love Knocks You Down. Still obsessed with this song. Its awesome, period.

I love hip hop music
My love of rap has been renewed (not that it ever really went anywhere, I do live in the capital of crunk for goodness sake) by the Ludacris song "One More Drink". It is hilarious, and I love it. I've been telling my co-workers lately that I'm not going to feel like a real Atlantan until I spot a rapper out in town somewhere. Numerous people have told me that if I start hanging around Lanox Mall (right down the street from me) every saturday, there is no question that I'll run into someone eventually. I can't wait to start my rapper-stalking! I figure a few other good places to go: Diddy's restaurant called Justin's, Gladys Knight's chicken and waffles restaurant, and Jermaine Dupre's Cafe Dupre. I love Atlanta.
Tonight I'm supposed to have a date for trivia yay! I am so excited to get back in the game! I discovered an awesome website yesterday called teamtrivia.com that lists all the different places you can play trivia on different nights of the week in a bunch of different cities. One of the places has pop culture trivia on Tuesday nights. I'll have to go, because I know I'll dominate. :)
I'm hoping to work from home tomorrow, so today may be my only day in the office for the week! Sometimes I love to work at home--I can keep my pjs on as long as I want, eat whatever I want and actually get a good amount of work done with no distractions (except maybe a little daytime tv for background noise:). We'll see if I get my approval...otherwise I know I'll be stragling in here in the morning since I'll most likely be up late. And we all know how much I love going to bed early...

Sunshine and 70
The weather here is GLORIOUS this week. Sunny, warm, fabulous. I'm probably leaving work around 4 today, so I'll have plenty of time to enjoy walking around outside before it gets cool again. So exciting.
The Grammy's inspired me to buy some new music on iTunes this week. When I listen to my ipod every day on the train, I do get a little tired of my music. I mean, I know my music is amazing, but I was in a little rut. New music includes: Adele, Carrie Underwood, Jonas Brothers (I'm not ashamed..haha) and Estelle. Now I plan on rocking out of the train for the next few days.
This week is sort of odd in general. Friday is the 13th (eek), Saturday is Valentine's Day (eww) and Monday is the President's Day holiday. Of course, I have this and all other very random holidays off. I love my life. Not sure what I'll do with myself all weekend, but I definitely want to see He's Just Not That Into You. Girls make much better Valentine's dates in general!

My life, as told by my iPod
We all know this should be hilarious...
1. Put your iTunes on SHUFFLE (or any type of music player you can shuffle songs with).
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write that song name down no matter how silly it sounds. Add some commentary if you'd like. Please do. It’s more fun that way.
IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY?" YOU SAY?
"Do It Again", Steeley Dan (hmm, maybe appropriate?)
WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
"Unreachable", Ashlee Simpson (not true, and slightly embarassing)
WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"Shine", Clay Aiken (HAHA)
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
"La La", Ashlee Simpson (ok, I really only own one Ashlee cd)
WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
"Nikita", Elton John (I don't think I've ever even listened to this)
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
"My Cherie Amour", Stevie Wonder (maybe true, if I actually had one)
WHAT IS 2+2?
"All Night Long", Lionel Richie
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS?
"Only Heart", John Mayer (Awesome)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Smack", 3 Doors Down (hehe)
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Just Can't Get Enough", Depeche Mode (love it)
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee", Grease Soundtrack (embarassing...)
WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Vacation", the Go Gos
WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"Get Over It", The Eagles (I don't know this song either..)
WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
"Loser", Beck (worst wedding song ever?)
WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"Forever May Not Be Long Enough", Live
WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"Hannah Jane", Hootie and the Blowfish (this is my official all time favorite song..amazing)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
"Only an Older Woman", the Boy From Oz soundtrack (I just need to get rid of all my soundtracks..this is out of control)
WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?
"My Goodies", Ciara
HOW WILL YOU DIE?
"Tiny Dancer", Ben Folds
WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU REGRET?
"Battle of Who Could Care Less", Ben Folds Five
Wow, what an eye opening experience. My music collection is even more cracked out than I thought!

Friends are like stars
I had an excellent long conversation with one of my best friends in the world last night, and its amazing how my mood & outlook on life have already improved. It never ceases to amaze me how simple contact with people my own age (and the people who know me best) can really turn around my life perspective and make me feel normal again. Well, as normal as possible. This summer has been a long, emotional, and at times depressing, transition from college to "real person" life. My usually happy-go-lucky attitude seemed to take a vacation, and leave me lonely and longing to go back to school. But, now that its practically August, I think I've finally made it through the toughest part and I'm really starting to adjust to--and even like--my life right now. My day job could be better (I'm working on that) and I need to get out more (I'm trying to work on that too), but I really shouldn't complain as much as I do. So thanks to K for making me feel better about life and sharing complaints with me. Can't wait to do it more regularly.
Note on the picture: I don't care if its corny, I like it anyway:)

In other (happier) news: I listen to an awesome radio station at work that plays tons of EnVogue and Christina Aguilera music all day long. Just a few minutes ago they actually played Backstreet Boys "I Want It That Way" AND Maya "Case of the Ex" (phenomenal middle school song if you don't remember). Theres really nothing exciting to say about this, accept for the fact that it reaffirms my lifelong love of teeny bopper music. I love it now and I always have...and I'm pretty sure I always will. I actually like the Jonas Brothers for God's sake, and I'm not afraid to admit it!
